About Our Devastating Loss…
On September 21, 2023, Meghan’s Light experienced a very sudden, significant and heartbreaking loss. Beloved Board Member and Treasurer, David Ciolkos left us far too soon. Meghan was 15 when Dave entered her life. He immediately became a very special part of her life and “big brother” to Meghan. Their relationship forever remained that way ❤️.
Dave was an integral piece in the creation of Meghan’s Light. He brought love, compassion, kindness, and generosity to our small team. We are truly devastated by his passing 💔.
On the day he passed, he had already picked up water and bananas from UMass and went to the bank to deposit checks and get cash for raffles for our big annual event that was to happen in 2 days. And that evening, about 20 minutes before the very tragic incident, Dave and Diane were on the phone with Linda discussing details for our event for about 15 minutes while they were on their nightly walk…then… life changed in an instant 😥
Dave was an important part of the 65 Wellness Wishes program, helping with the financial budget. Linda can recall many Saturday morning phone calls from him at Kieras Oil when he would call her after finishing extra hours in the office to work on Meghan’s Light. He helped over 530 Wishes be granted. To say he will be missed is an understatement.
We can only imagine the welcome Meghan gave Dave at heaven’s gate. Dave’s powerful impact with Meghan’s Light continues as over $8,000 has been donated in his memory. Shine on Dave… we miss you terribly and love you always ❤️.
